homecoming 2008

sat. night we attended the high school's homecoming dance. (and when i say attended, i mean my guy is a teacher, so he had chaperon duty. i tagged along as his "date")

being there brought back memories. memories of other dances, of friends, classes and such. i honestly can't believe it is creeping up on a decade since we've been there.
we had lots of time to talk and reminisce. (we were there from 8:30-12).
so the question was brought up, if you were to wake up, and these last few years have just been a dream, what would you do differently, knowing what you know now. what a weird thought.

* i would of studied more. i had good grades without really trying. and it makes me so mad to think i could have gotten really good grades had i just applied myself a little more.

* i would have been friendlier. to everyone. i don't think i was a mean person (i'm sorry if i was), but yes, i could have been nicer.

* i wouldn't have wasted so much time/thoughts on those silly boys.. {okay, maybe just my T.W.}

*i wouldn't have stressed over the little things. i mean what did we really have to stress about in those days? definitely not mortgages, car payments, sick children, work, etc..

on one hand it would be great to redo. going back with the knowledge and confidence i have now.. i had a great high school experience. i really did. but no thanks. i'm happy to have made it through the first time.

so it has gotten me thinking of where i am, how things have turned out..
i'm so grateful for the life i have. for the many things i have experienced that have shaped me into who i am. i love my life as a wife and mother. never have i felt so complete. at times i am exasperated with the hubby and boys, but i can't be/or imagine life with out them.

i'm grateful for where we are right now in our lives. for a loving heavenly father that watches, loves and provides for our needs. lately we have had so many little blessings. so many simple/random acts that i am so grateful for..

so the questions are.. would you go back? if so, what would you change?

i think this kid likes me to shower more then i do. anything to watch a show huh..

we love you man! can you believe it's already half way through oct.!? almost a year! crazy. it has gone by so fast! (at least for us!)

merr will be one! so weird. you'd like this kid. he's so crazy. getting a little feisty.. his personality is starting to come out more, and he is a funny little one. getting so cheesy and so smart. he likes to stand with something and let go, and thinks he's pretty cool.

breck loves him. sometimes a bit too much, but merr just loves him too. if breck is napping, merr will crawl into their room and just stand at breck's bed doing his little yell, trying to get him to come play with him.

it's busier with 2 of them, sometimes they drive me crazy, but o i love these boys! they are so much fun.
breck told me today he wanted it to snow. i don't think i'm ready for that yet!

thank you for being a good example to my boys. (breck still talks about you. he tells me yea ber-ber come my baseball game 2 years. and some times it's 2 days..)

remember we love you and are praying for you and those you teach.

here's a couple scriptures for you: Moroni 7:47, then read verses 45 then 48 of the same chapter. this something i am trying to work on. i really need to work on.

the story:

timmy walks up behind a group of students and is standing there for a minute when a girl walks up to him and asks if he is going to homecoming. he stands there for a couple of seconds and kinda looks around making sure he's heard things right. once he realizes she is speaking to him, he says, uh, no. her friend nudges her and says hey, shut up. he's a teacher! the first girls' face immediately turns bright red, and timmy makes some joke about how if he goes, he'll be taking his wife.

poor girl. i truly feel bad, but so funny!

we have had a couple fires at night! my garage smells wonderfully of ceder(from the pile of wood timmy has brought in) do you remember having to haul wood? ugh, i did not enjoy that, but the results are worth it.
breck says: hi ber-ber. we go at pumpkin patch. i found green pumpkin. we goin at church and we goin play there. i goin be football man at church. bye, i love you k.
(the ward has a play date once a week and they are dressing up and decorating pumpkins today!) that's all for today! we miss and love you!

yesterday was a good day. a couple things i want to remember..


*bubble blowing..

merr loved it. just tried eating it. and grabbing it.
* then as i'm preparing dinner, breck wanted to watch baseball. so i found the boston/angels game. and he gave the play-by-play. *yay he hit it! *ooo, strike one! *o foul tip. *mom, mom he slid! and etc..

*having a fire for the second time this season, eating in front of it, enjoying the warmth..

*a long relaxing, warm shower. with no interruptions.

oct. 1st..

we went acorn hunting. i want this to become a tradition for the first day of october. a way to welcome in the fall!

so long sweet summer..

hey derek,

what is the weather like down there? isn't getting to be your summer time? crazy to think because the mornings are so chilly here now! evenings too!

isn't this grass beautiful? i wish it were mine, but it's cyndy's. which is good, because that means we get to enjoy it also! can you tell breck likes the davis' dog!? he wants a puppy. maybe sometime. not right now.

breck now has 3 pairs of baseball pants. he wants me to tell you he got some gray ones for his birthday. they are his favorite ones. (they are like 3 sizes too big)

he only gets to wear them at home, or around here. like to mom's or cyndy's. when we go to show low or anywhere like that he has to wear shorts or pants. so the whole time we are gone he is always saying let's go home. then we get here, and he changes back to baseball pants first thing.

merr is crawling everywhere. he is constantly going and into something. but he is the sweetest little guy. he gives kisses and loves all the time. he sure loves breck. they get so excited to see each other in the morning or after naps.

right now i'm sitting in the office typing, and they are right outside the door. breck has a glove on and is throwing a rubber ball against the wall and making some sweet plays! merrik is just sitting watching him and clapping for him. so funny.
